The Fine Arts Committee is hosting a “Juneteenth” Interactive Musical Program entitled “Bamboo Man and the Drinking Gourd” featuring music by Leslie Burrs, an internationally renowned composer and flutist, who will share storytelling through his many flutes including African wooden flutes. Also featuring Aryssa Leigh Burrs, a nationally recognized young female vocalist who is changing the landscape of art itself as she sings and shares African Call and Response singing and the American Gospel style of music. The program will be accompanied by Carol Lee Evans who is a Grammy Award Nominee for her teaching expertise and will share information on why we celebrate Juneteenth. The musical performance is free and open to the public. We will receive a free will offering and a reception will follow.
